have heard that a hei out of the buick 350 will fit.
OR a Buick 455. although you have to swap the drive gear at the bottom of the distro shaft.
the 300 is a short deck/stroke and slightly smaller bore than the 350.
I am the proud new owner a a 65 skylark. It's a one owner and has been setting in a barn since84. My question is what is the best and or cheapest way to get away from these dreaded points. I have considered going with pertonix but have heard that a hei out of the buick 350 will fit. I don't know anything about buicks. Lol I'm converting from the blue oval so any help with my lark is always appreciated. Thanks Chango

I'd go with a pertronix or something similar. The HEI cap hanging on a early model Buick just aint right.

Chango,
I've run the Petronix on both a 300 and a 340. Ran great. I have no complaints. Looks stock too.
Good luck.

I put a PertronixII in my Wildcat 445 (425), removed the dist to make it easier.
slid it right back in and fired it up. sure starts easy.
will do the same with the leSaber's 300; should be easier with the dist in front
