    Fireball 225 v6

Need help in identifying an engine. I am rebuilding a 44 Jeep willys in which the original owner swapped the flathead 4 out for the 225 Fireball V6. At least thats what I was told.

Number on front left of the block is b127043. I've been to several different websites and can't find this number anywhere. Another number on the rear of the block is 1349430. Which belongs to the 198. I need to know what type of engine this is to order the right rebuild kit. I appreciate any help!

so far as i know, small block Buick / early v6 casting numbers are VERY spotty. i've never seen what i would consider even a halfway decent source for them.

see if you can find the two letter engine code or even the EIN variation on the VIN number. that would give us a year to start from.

also keep in mind, Kaiser / Jeep were actually manufacturing and OEM installing this engine from ~1967 to 71. that's probably why the Buick v6 is in that old Jeep in the first place, the last guy knew that it was used as a Jeep factory engine and there's at least some support for it over among the Jeep community.

if it's part of the Kaiser production run we're not going to have ANYTHING on this web site so far as casting numbers or engine codes go. you'll have to see if you can find a Jeep specialist who's keeping a list.

    Bob,

Really appreciate the help. I pulled the engine and need to clean up the grease and extra coats of paint. I've been looking for the engine code and as soon as I can find it i'll throw it on here.
