ok here is my situation, i left my 64 special with my mechanic while i was away in Iraq to replace all the gaskets and get the heads done. He got it all done and put it back in and when we started it i got no oil pressure. i replaced the timing chain cover because it had a small crack in it. I then bought new gears for the pump and all that. we packed it and then tried to prime it with a priming tool. still no action. I went and found a new oil pump housing and we packed it also but no pressure. i know he replaced the rings but i think that was all. I am completly lost now. I leave for Iraq in December and really wanna try and finish my ride and get some good cruising out of it. All help is appreciated even if its connecting me with buick heads in the Ft Hood texas area. Thanks
First - Thanks for going to Iraq. If it ran the the pump is not priming or you should check it with a mechanical guage. I had left my pressure sender off when doing a compression check and oil came out just with the starter. Also make sure the oil pickup pipe is tight to the block with a gasket.
