Being as you work on Subarus, you know that the problem is blowby and the engine needs a rebuild. The cheby suggestion doesn't make sense, because you would need a transmission too, and the cars value would dive, so yank the motor and do it...

Irresponsible street hoodlum:
Doctor, It hurts when I do this.
Doctor:
Well, don't do that!
I'm not trying to be too judgmental here but if it's mostly happening when you are abusing your car then, quit abusing it! There is a good chance that if you drive it like a sane adult that the engine, even in it's weakened condition it will probably last quite awhile. Only 113k? With a lead footed punk driving it it's lucky for any car or engine to last that long. The only thing that makes less sense than abusing your only form of transportation is either of the engine swaps that you suggest.
DUH!
no chit sherlock
im not some stupid kid
ill baby it untill my 62 COMET is ready
then ill drive a ford till my buick is ready
yall dont need to be so aggresive in your comments
you all are going to run me off this board
and that would be rude
i dont belive that they were trying to be rude, i think that they are passionate about keeping these old buicks running and for a long time, and they hate to see them even slightly abused. just keep driving the car like an old lady to keep it alive, or pick up a new daily driver for like 500 bucks until you get the buick up again...
Check PCv valve hose, it may be collapsed inside or pinched. I had a 300/4bbl in a sportwagon then put it in a chev van. When I sold it, it had 240,000 miles and used no oil. I beat the hell out of it too. Jim

hey don't worry about BIGRIVY he was dropped on his valve covers too many times.LOL Theres good ideas here and alot out thier.Check the boards and the books, ask the questions and then well ya just might have to do some work on her.Always keep it simple when trouble shooting engines. have fun and stick around even old disgruntled rivy owners learn from others.
