Hi! I'm actually looking for a trunk pan for my -57 Oldsmobile 88 Holiday coupe but I'm wondering if a Buick -57 with 3piece back window would fit? And if so, where could I start looking? Even better would be if somebody could put me on track to find a pan for a Olds!

Thanks Bob!
I put an ad there, lets see if I'm lucky! By the way, you wouldn't know if -57 Buick and -57 Olds trunk pans are compatible?

The Buick Master Parts book shows all '57 Specials and Centuries use the same trunk pan, part no 4691783. The www.gmpartswiki.com site has an Olds Master Parts Book for '57-65 models, but it does not have a number for a '57 trunk pan (aka: pan, rear compartment).

The complete full-width pan assembly on the junior Buicks and the 88s are probably not identical. The junior Buicks were slightly narrower in overall width than the Olds that year. Olds went to 14-inch wheels that year, while Buick stayed with 15-inch wheels. So there may be some variations in the tire pockets.

One firm www.c2cfabrication.com does offer replacement panels such as floor pans, trunk pans, rocker panels, and door skins for cars of the 50s. Their trunk pan replacement is a central section that would weld up to side sections of the original pan. Their part number for the earlier '54-56 body design is the same for the Olds and junior Buicks. Their trunk pans for the later '59-60 body design however use different part numbers for Buick and Olds. Unfortunately they have no listings of trunk pans for the '57-58 body design for either make.

It might be worthwhile to contact them to see if there are plans to produce '57 trunk pans.
