  • Eric, I probably did not make my intentions clear. I have a 425 and in late January I pulled the straight eight and tried to fit the 425 in. My power steering gear was in the way so I removed it. Then I could lower the engine a little more, then I had right hand exhaust manifold problems. I also could see problems with alternator and power steering pump clearances with the knee action shocks. I do not have enough time to fix all that before spring (I am residing and reroofing my house) so I am just fixing my blow-by problem on my straight eight and it will be ready for the summer. We are going to BC this summer. As of right now there are 14 woodies signed up, two of them Buicks, mine and a 53 from Seattle. My 425 has all the machining done and my heads are done. I have to decide on a cam shaft grind and how many carbs I am going to run on it. Right now with the way it is snowing and the forecast for the weekend I will be able to work on the Buick.
