I have a '66 Special with a 350 and I just put a Edelbrock carb on it but the linkage doesn;t work with the new carb. It had a Quadrajet with a stand off post where the rod from the throttle mounted, the Edelbrock doesn't have this, theres just a hole.Theres no cable from the pedal just metal rods that bolt together leading to the carb, is this correct? I've never seen a linkage like this before.

Some of those "standoffs" can be moved. Can you remove it from the Q-jet and put it in the hole on the Edelbrock?

This car should be a 300 or 340 cu in from the factory. Edlebrock makes the standoffs you are looking for. Any well stocked speed shop should have these. If you can't find them locally a would check with Jeg's or Summit Racing online. Just out of curiosity. When the engine was switched out to the 350 was the original trans retained? The second rod should be the rod that attaches to the trasmission solinoid.
