aluminum heads versus cast help need input

Please add your feelings on this I need to rebuild my heads (bent valve )I have a 1972 GS Riviera so I thought its a good time to upgrade to aluminum heads i am looking at TA Performance stage 1 (SE)heads the 455 has a lower end that's stock with about 2000mi on it. Edelbrock intake and HEI dis / 750 Edelbrock carb mild cam with TA performance shorty headers. i would like to hear from anybody that has input on if I should switch or keep the stock cast GS heads. and the trouble that may come with the aluminum heads thanks for the input rudybdog

the alum heads will flow better out of the box than the factory heads can ever flow, even if you put thousands of dollar in porting into them.

the alum will also be more tolerant of poor quality gas ( less likely to ping or knock ), due to aluminum rejecting heat faster than the cast iron does.

you're not going to get the best possible benefit out of the alum heads on a stock type build, but if the rebuild on the cast irons is going to be a significant percentage of buying new alums i don't know why you wouldn't go ahead and get the new heads.
