i believe that it is either 69 or 70 but i have to double check the numbers tomorrow.
ok just measured then they are the bigger valves, but the casting numbers say it should be a 69 400 or 430. or a 70 455, any thoughts. and how i measured was the widest diameter, and i got1.75 and 2.125 is that right?
Sounds like you have a set of Stage I heads

yea but wont that not perform as i want though? will i be losing hp or torque
Stage 1 valves are supposed to suffer shrouding when installed on a 400ci bore. they're supposed to be okay on the wider 430.
also, the larger valve bumps compression by taking up more space in the combustion chamber. the factory numbers say it's good for 1/2 a point in 1970.
