    1967 GS400 headers

I was wondering if anyone out there is running a set of headers on their BBB '67 GS400 or Skylark?

I am considering a set and am looking at the Hooker CLICK HERE

vs the TA performance CLICK HERE

I am mostly wondering about clearances, I am sure either will do fine for performance.

So if you have some, tell me what you think?

    Post Headers in the 67

    Hello,

I've had experience with three different header installs on my 67 GS California. First the T/A - on driver's side had to ding the tubes at the steering shaft - pretty typical. Passenger side required a big dent at the upper control arm - not fun.

Mickey Thompson Super Scavenger - Once again typical tube dings in the steering shaft area. The collectors on these headers are so big had to modify transmission crossmember for clearance. GS 400 may have a different crossmember? Also hang very low.

I've had the best luck with Poston headers - just tube dings in the steering shaft area. No experience with Hookers

Btw, I used a 4 speed cluster gear shaft to ding the headers, had coated, came out very clean. Also use new motor mounts as this has an affect on header clearance. The install does require patience - good luck.

    Wes
