Just putting my rebuilt 71 buick skylark 350 back in and have ran into a snag. I ordered a shop manual that has not come in yet.
Does anyone know the torque and bolt tightening sequence for the stock intake manifold?
Thanks,
Zack
Hi!
I own a 71' skylark too, here is the direct wording from the 1971 Buick chassis service manual (350 section) <--(big brown shop manual)
- When installing a manifold, start with the No.1 and No.2 bolts. See Figure 60-74. Gradually tighten both bolts until snug. Then continue with the rest of the bolts in the sequence shown in figure 60-74. Torque bolts to 55 lb. ft.
This is the order from left to right
11-7--3---1--5-9
12-8--4---2--6-10
from one owner to another, make sure you read the paperwork from the manifold maker, some manifolds have specs that require some kind of differing order or torque range... trust me!
hope this helps!, BTW what intake did you buy, and where from... looking for a high performance one myself
