Center Caps for 67 Buick Rally's

I've got a 67 Electra with the 15" rally's. Right now the center caps are silver with tri-shield and "Buick Motor Division". I want to replace but the parts shops I checked into indicate a different style (black w/tri-shield). Unfortunately, every picture of Wildcats and Electras from this era look like exactly what I've got. Can someone help me out here... Do I have the right style or not?

The '67 Electra convert I have had since early 1970 has the black with tri-shield centers. The silver with tri-shield are supposed to be '71 and later. You probably have the wrong cap too.

The best source for new caps and centers at decent prices is www.oldbuickparts.com

Click on "products" then scroll down and select the "61 to 76 Electra, Wildcat Lesabre, etc" page. Download all the group catalogs (in .pdf format) and save them for future use. The wheels and tires are in group 5. They have the correct parts.

I need an electro cruise (complete) for my other '67, seen one anywhere?

By the way, the same place has at least 2 '67 Buick Electras in their part yard. They can probably help you out with the correct air cleaner housing (and decals!) if you e-mail them. I get most of my parts there. Some even NOS. If you ever run accross the fender port-holes (cruiserline-ventaports) I can use 8 of them. I have replaced nearly all of the cast potmetal chrome on mine from the same source.

If you plan to replace the weather stripping on the car, let me know. There are better sources for that, and the parts are slightly more correct than the cars inc parts.

Thanks for the info Hillbilly... I've been using that website a lot for parts as well, but I wanted to confirm if there info was right as every 65-67 Wildcat/Electra I see seems to have the same silver center caps. I'll keep my eyes open for the electro-cruise and cruiserline ventaports for you. The car show & swap meet season is just getting started up here and if I find something, I'll let you know. I'll be emailing you with some other info soon...

Thanks! It seems there were a lot more of the silver with tri-shield produced, so over the years they ended up on lots of wheels.

The cap for the '66 to '70 is entirely differnt. It has fluted sides, not the smooth chrome of the 71 and newer. I even had the wrong caps on mine for about 10 years. They were all I could find.

Glenn at parts inc is the guy to talk to if you phone them. He has helped me find a lot of hard to get parts. They got 2 '67 electras in their parts yard about a month ago, and there are lots of parts there. If you need any particular part, let me know. I have a few spares.

I still need the Electra 225 script for both quarters and the trunk lid if you run accross good one. They are seperate pieces (Electra and 225). I have 2 '67 converts. One red, one blue (28,000 mile original).

And I do plan on replacing my weatherstripping all around. The car is from Nevada so it's all dried out. A source for that would be great.

The window/vent/run-channel and belt-line (inner and outer)weather strips are a better match for the '67. I just did mine, and they take minimal triming.

The company is Steele Rubber Products.

Thanks, the parts list grows all the time, but right now I'm looking for the air-cleaner housing and a heater control valve (manual a/c). That guy in Montana I told you about might have the scripts on his parts car as well, I told him you'd be emailing him. I've got a blue 67 Electra convertible as well.

Mitch Romanowski is a great source for top quality repro wheel centers. I can email a "pictures w/prices" list that I got from him last year. It is a .pdf file-type. I bought a set of 68 GS center caps for $150/set, and they are BEAUTIFUL! Email me at dave.gramlow@horvick.com if you would like a copy of the list. Mitch's email address is mitchromanowski@lightfirst.com
