1955 Paint Chart

The Buick Motor Division has devised a new system for identifying exterior body finishes used in production on the 1955 models which follows:

Alphabet Code Letters designate colors which are available for solid, two-tone, or three-tone color combinations. The firsst alphabet letter designates the upper color, the 2nd alphabet letter denotes the center color, and the 3rd alphabet letter denotes the color below molding, i.e., Combination AAA would be all Black, and ADB would be Upper-Black, Center-Windsor Gray Metallic, and below moulding- Dover White.

The 3-tone Color Combinations will be available ONLY in the following four color combinations:

EKH	Temple Gray	Stafford Blue Metallic	Cascade Blue
BML	Dover White	Willow Green	Belfast Green Metallic
ASC	Carlsbad Black	Cherokee Red	Cameo Beige
-1 = Optional Cherokee Red Wheels --- AAA-1 would be a solid black car with optional Cherokee Red Wheels

Color code numbers appear on a plate on the right side portion of the firewall under the hood.
