Working on 1966 wildcat after tearing down engine we found damaged oil tube under the cam. Is there any way to repair?

66 Chassis Manual will probably be helpful

there's a schematic of the oil circuit on page 60-103.
are you talking about the main oil galley or are you talking about one of the lifter feed galleys?
how big is the hole? what caused it? how many miles does the engine have with this condition?

You may be able to remove the area, drill/tap for fittings and replace the section with a hard line. It is going to be a lot of work compared to starting with an undamaged 401 block. I would only consider this for a numbers matching show car.

I have talked to Carmen Faso about the oil passage modification for clearance for a stroker crank and rods.
It can be done, would take a bit of work. Not for the faint of heart...as apparently I am since I have not done it yet!

Thanks for your help, i though about doing that because of matching number, but machine shop that tested the block found areas around the cylinder ends that showed.some hair line cracks.
They recommend scrapping block. Now I don't know if I should replace with another nail head block or a hi performance v8. Any suggestions?
425 would drop right in and it was an option for you in 66
