Front wheel bearings 55 special

Has anybody found new style bearings that will replace the old ball bearings? Also what i'd really like to do is put disc brakes on the car without installing a complete new front supension. Any help would be great. Thanks

here are a couple options for you:

webrodder.com just did a tech article on a 55 buick installation
classic performance products. although they are primarily chev oriented, they have pieces that will work on the bigger gm cars. just know, the key to any disc brake conversion is finding a caliper mounting bracket that will work.
you get needle bearings as an added bonus.
