I think it is a 52 or 53 but not sure. It has the circular chrome pieces on the fenders and the "fins" on the back.
Here is some year info which should help you get close.

where would I find the "series" of the car?
On my '52 special, there is an ID plate under the hood, on the passenger side, on the firewall, where it wraps around towards the passenger side door. This plate should have the info you need. If it has been removed, the last digit of the engine number indicates the series. The engine number is stamped on a "plate" on the passenger side of the engine. On mine it is just below the coil, just in front of the distributor. On a Roadmaster it might be more towards the rear of the engine. The #4 indicates a Special series 40, #5 means a Super series 50, #7 means Roadmaster series 70. From there we'll need to know if it's 2door, 4 door, convertible, hardtop, post ect. to figure out if it's a series 72R, or a 76C ect. Let us know what you find.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the one I should be getting is a 72R based on the pictures from buicks.net
In case you guys are wondering I know that it is all original due to it being my Grand Dad's buick that he got brand new when he owned a Buick dealership. The bad parts is that my uncle has let it and numerous others sit out in the weather all the years and they look like pooh
So it's a 4 door Roadmaster then? Have you figured out the year? Is it a straight 8 engine or a nailhead? If you get a chance post some pics of it and the others in the yard. I loves me a yard fulla ol cars! LOL.
scott
It is a 4 door with a straight 8. Are you sure you wanna see pics? It would make any car nut wanna kill my uncle. lol
Which forum category should I post the pics?
I found the photo area. I will up the pics when I get them off my camera phone.
