its highly doubtful, whatever you are investigating will look like anything that is currently in your car. i installed a newport engineering unit several years ago. their switch is just a generic rotary, so i modified my control to fit their pieces.
Ok.....I am looking at doing a wiper conversion from vaccuum to electric on a 1955 Buick. I have found a kit which says it comes with a rotary switch and am just wondering if anyone has done this type of conversion and if they know if the switch looks like the original switch in the dash board

Since the old buicks have the vaccum switch how did you do the conversion?
Did you use their switch and conver the outer controls to fit?
Just wondering before I make the big pruchase.
I would call th eocmpany and ask, but being sunday no one is open
yes, i adapted my outer control to fit their switch pieces. its been a few years ago and i have forgotten exactly what i did do. if you need blow by blow directions, let me know and i will post them. it will take me a few days, though.
Any information you have would be greatly appreciated
finally got an opportunity to follow up for you.
i drilled a hole all the way through the SWITCH SHAFT EXTENSION in the newport engineering product so that i would not have to break off the small diameter shaft on the back side of the stock washer fluid button. my stock control knob fits properly on the newport extension shaft and no other mods were necessary, other than hiding the electric pump for the washer fluid.
Thanks for the time. I spoke to someone from the company last week and they actually suggested just hiding the switch up under the dash somewhere, accessible but hidden, since it might not get a lot of use.
