The only straight 8 offered in '53 was the small straight 8. The last year for the 320 was '52. All others in '53 were the new V-8.
I have a 1953 70 series 320 cu inch stright eight Buick engine. Serial # 67401427. This is the large engine used in the convertable and the heavier Buicks. My engine was probably one of a few left over in 1952, and used in 1953. I am having a problem finding exhaust gaskets to fit the engine. Everywhere I go they try to sell me the smaller gaskets. Don't have no gasket stretcher !!! Would appreciate any leads. By the way, this engine powers a 1937 Seagrave Fire Engine! Larry in Kettering Ohio.
