Can anyone please tell me if there was a mirror for the passenger side of the '68 Buick lineup? I've seen a picture in a book of cars that shows an exact match of my car, but with a passenger side mirror. I am scouring the internet but I still can't find one.

Is it buick-world.net or buickworld.com? There's two different sites.

Hey Big Block
Buick world is www.buick-world.com
On the web-site you can fill out a request form
It is best to get them by Phone 360-825-3787 Pacific time. Ask for Jim Macy
you could also try www.classicbuicks.com

Thanks Tom. I'll be sure to check those sites.
I'm actually thinking about just modifying a driver's side mirror now.

when you complete your mod, let's see some pictures. I've thought about doing that too.
Yes. Buick certainly did make a right side specific mirror for 1968, and it is also for 1969, all models. But each body style had it's own base gasket that goes on the top of the door. If you have a GS, you need a base gasket that has A RH on it near the part #. All models used the same bracket, but it is RH specific. The 68-69 Buick RH mirror has a part # of 1383840 stamped on the bottom inside of the mirror. It is very hard to find. They sell for between $400 and $600 for a NOS one, that is new in the box, never been installed, with gasket, bracket, screws, and template. Used ones sell for $300-500. They are that rare. Those are actual current values. I sincerely doubt there is any business anywhere on the entire world wide web/internet that you could contact and order that mirror from. Really. It is a part that should definitely be reproduced. Good luck finding one, keep checking ebay, they do show up there occasionally.

I got the mirror I'm going to mod about a week ago but I've busy with school and helping with some website stuff on my buds site. I'll probably mount the mirror on the car this weeked since it's going to be pretty mild for January.
By the way I e-mailed the guys over at oldbuickparts.com and they said they're considering reproducing the mirrors right now and will know if they're doing it in a couple months.

I tried posting pictures and this was the best I could do since the site won't let me upload most of the pictures. It came out pretty good overall and looks stock. Doesn't help me at all, but it looks good. Sorry I took so long with the pics guys.
