    building a fast buick 350

My friend who is not mechanically inclined has a late 60's Le-Sabre with a buick 350 in it. I need to find a good build sheet for this motor as I am an Oldsmoholic and know very little on Buick Power. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are beginning to restore this classic beuty.

They are 100pound lighter than a Chev 350. But a limited to few specialist places that keep performance parts at reasonable prices. If its a 68/69 mtr it would oil through the rockers. If I were to rebuild again I would use the 455 mtr. Try this site www.taperformance.com

buick 350s have been turned over 8000rpm and have gotten to 600hp normally aspirated and +1000 on turbo with a stock bottom end (which shouldn't surprise all that much seeing as the buick V6 is well known to be able to handle ~1000hp levels and it's based on the buick small block).

most of the power is to be found in the heads.

you might also want to talk to Jim Burek at http://www.paeenterprises.com/ , i know he's involved with another guy in a high hp build up for the small block.

Hey Bob great site. Hell I did not think they got that type of power out of the Buick 350 V8. I've got a high lift cam in mine with a holley 600 cfm but if I rev it too hard the plastic rocker positioners snap off & end up bending the push rods. I also found that the felpro head gaskets cope better in performance use.
We had the Buick V6 fitted to our Holdens until this year 1988-2005 some fitted with superchargers from factory. The alloytec Caddy 3.6lt has replaced it.

I am too mechanically inclined, somewhat.
