nobody has any combos using stage 1 heads?
a buddy of mine is building a 455 for his '70 GS350 and a member on here has a stock set of stage 1 heads he is looking at. what we would like to know is what kind of power people are running on the street with these on pump gas in either a 430 or 455. combos/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
chris

What kind of power, I would say you will get good power. An upgrade in your heads is probably one of the best things you can do to build power. If finances are not a problem, you can even go to the aluminium heads available from TA performance. They are capable of more power. To gain the most benifit from a head upgrade, you should modify most of the rest of the engine to match.

well, for right now i will stick with the stock heads and do a home port and polish on them not anything major just mostly clean up and also polishing the chambers to help make them more detonation resistant. the ta heads are nice, but a little out of my price range at the moment.
Chris,
I think you could get to the 425-450 hp range with the stock stage 1 heads and the right cam, intake, carb, compression, headers and exhaust.
