    Question

    Looking at a 72 skylark convertible. New to Buicks. It's a repo at the bank, looking at it tomorrow. Any thoughts on this model. Thanks.

    skylarks are 'easily' converted into GS or GSX clones.

    the VIN # will be something like 4D67J2xxxxxx where:
    4 = Buick
    D = Skylark or H (Skylark Custom) or G (GS)
    67 = 2 door convertible
    J = 350 4v, look for K (GS 350) or U (GS 455)
    2 = 1972 model year
    xxxxxx = sequential production number

    there hasn't been much of a collector car market rise up around buicks and this is a repo to boot so i'm thinking it will be fairly cheap.
