Good Morning Tom,
Thank you for return email with information confirming model 4347 is 1962 Buick Skylark.
I've checked my vin # 314509298 I'm not concerned about manufacturing plant, but I'd like to learn if my car is "Y" body or "A-B-C-F etc" example, I restored some Hudsons and they were all uni-body. Presently have transmission being rebuilt, engine also at machine shop for complete overhaul, all chrome, stainless and interior removed for restoration. Going to add disc brakes with new master cylinder and booster.
Trying to locate a suppplier for my transmission mount, either to rebuild or purchase one?
Thanks again for helpful information and any offered in the future too. Enjoy the Super Bowl.
Ray
Ray, yes your car is a Y body. For a while, GM labeled their unibody cars from the back of the alphabet forward. Z= Corvair (which provided some original design input for the Buick Special), Y= 61-63 Pontiac Tempest/Buick Special/Olds F-85, and X= Chevy II.
What has been, can be again. (Bob Wills, 1942)
Thanks Todd,
I appeciate you confirming Y as body for my car.
Do you or any other member have recommedation in dealing with CARS, Classic Buick or Restoration Specialities, as I stripped all the rubber on entire car, I need everything and about to place an order or is there any other suppliers offering authentic Buick rubber replacement products? Still trying to locate a suppplier for a needed transmission mount, either to rebuild or purchase one, any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Ray
