Thread: 300 engine questions

    Post

Does anyone out there know if I bored out my 300 block to 3.8 dia.if pistons from the new series II V6 engine will fit? I have the "355" engine,so if they did fit, would I lose my high compression and just be wasting my time.Is there anything from the older 350 that will fit my engine? What about a 340 crank, not that I will be able to find one, will it fit in my engine? Also,I have a 300 sp trans. There is little to nothing out there for this engine to make a little more power. I would like to keep it as close to original as possible but maybe get a few more ponies out of it.Any help would be appreciated.

JML, forget the 340 crank, it won't work unless you throw a lot of money at it, and even then, I'm not sure it would work. Mods for the 300 were in a previous post; check the archives.
