Okay, hello. I'm new to this and I apologize up front if I'm totally out of whack here. I've got a 1950 Buick with a straight 8 and I have 4 bent push rods, 3 stuck vaulves..etc,etc. I have the head off and I'm getting ready to do a vaulve job but I don't have any books on this old girl and I don't know the torque specs. Any advise on where I can find it?

Thanks, Shan

Hi, Shan,

I see that You are a New Member. Welcome Aboard!
So what Model Buick do You have? Tell US more about You Buick.

Before I answer Your question, for Future Reference, I would get mayself a 1950 Buick Service Manual. It will be the best 50 bucks You ever spent, Especially if You intend to work on Your Buick, Yourself. I believe Head Bolts are 65-70 LB.

You are in luck since here at buicks.net answers to your questions are just a mouse click away

If You go to the Shop Section of Buicks.net there is a section on tune-up specs for most Buick Engines www.buicks.net/shop/tuneup.html

There is also a section devoted to Straight Eight Tech HELP!

I wish You lots of luck with Your Project and keep US Informed on Your Progress.

Regards,

Tom,

I just fixed your link, you accidentally put show instead of shop.

Here's the torque pattern too...
