    Question

    can anybody give me a part number (buick or aftermarket) for the vacuum advance on a 1950 Special (43)? the engine is a 248

    Part number for your vacuum advance is 1116065. Fits 1937-1952 all series. This is from a Buick parts book 1940-1965.JRL

    Mark, here's some more numbers--

    Buick parts lists before 1954 showed it to be a 1116046. AC-Delco aftermaket numbers were an H-681 or D-1303. Standard Ignition catalog number was a VC-6. Filko called it a VC-62X.

    There were no crossovers shown listing any other car brands using this part. Parts like this with a hidden rubber diaphragm can go bad sitting on the shelf for 30-40 years. For that reason, NOS items like this shouldn't command a premium price.

    Thanks,those part #'s cross to NAPA # ECHVC1805 which I have ordered and I will let you know if it works.
