    Question

    hi,
i have a 1953 special with a straight 8 engine,i was changing the spark plugs the other day and noticed that all the entrances to where the plugs fit were full of oil, could anyone give me a list of possible causes, as always thanks for your help.

If I remember correctly, I think some of the rocker shaft bolts go all the way through the casting, and if they are not sealed, it might cause your problem. Maybe.

could also be that the valve cover gasket may need to be replaced. it could be leaking down into the spark plugs.
