a 'vacuum leak' refers to gaskets somewhere in the intake path leaking raw air into the fuel/air mixture. either past (or in) the carb or past the Mass Air Flow sensor which causes the fuel metering system to lean the motor out.
you can search for vacuum leaks by spraying the edges of the intake manifold / carb / joints in the intake path with starter fluid (NOT the air cleaner). if the engine speeds up, you've got a vacuum leak at that point.
it's good to have found the radiator hose leak butt i don't think that's causing your stalling problem.
i'm not familiar with the 89s, i assume that's all computer controlled FI, right? you might want to check the air flow sensor.
