    There was a recent article(within a year) in hot rod or car craft about the 401/425. These are tough engines with plenty of torque and very reliable for street use. I'd go for one over a 455 in a minute. The 455's have tremendous potential for HP, but you have to overcome a poorly designed oiling system by making modifications. Just my 2 cents

    Hey Jim,
    Thanks alot for your input. I agree that the horsepower potential is definately greater in the 455 but as you said oiling system is something to look at. Alot of people have had great success with the 455 but I'm not interested in a 800 H.P. monster engine. I would only like to have possibly between 425 to 475 H.P. which I think is attainable with either the 401 or 425. Plus the 401 is a BBB for 65 also. The 401 or 425 may cost more to build but the way I look at it is if you're going to play you're going to pay. Thanks Again!
