Question

I'm stumped. This car has only been able to make it about 30 miles before it overheats since the day I bought it. I have (in this order) replaced the thermostat, re-cored the radiator, replaced radiator cap, replaced water pump, replaced fan clutch, and rebuilt the carb. I say again, I AM STUMPED!

Have you had the block flushed?? This is sometimes the culprit. Is the timing set properly? Retarded timing will make a Buick run hot.

I have used a bottle of Zerex engine flush and I spoke with someone at a radiator shop who told me that with what I have done, he is 99% sure that the water jackets are not the problem.

    Thumbs up

This is a real shot in the dark, but do you have A/C? If so you might check the condensor in front of the rad for blockage from old dead insects. Over many years, they can build up quite thick in between cooling fins, and who looks in there for problems. Good luck
