Should be a straight forward swap, but check out the bolt pattern on the trans. There are other experts on this site, that can help you more. Check the archives,
Hello everyone!
I've got a "has anyone ever done this" question for the tech gurus out there.
I have a chance to pick up a complete land rover 3.9 V8 engine pretty cheaply and, at the same time, have a Buick Special project car with a tired 215. I've always heard that these are essentially the same engines. What problems would I encounter putting the land cruiser engine into the special? (mated to a dual path transmission.) Is this a doable swap?
Regards,
Chris

Well, I've perused the archives and didn't really find much. If there any experts out there who have made such a swap, please drop me an email at rorrer@trificient.net. I could use the advice!
Thanks and regards,
Chris
