Unhappy

My Buick went to the mechanic recently to do a overhaul on the transmission. While he was at it he said that the planetary's were goners so if it was not enough trouble, please get some. Well, that's easier said then done. I don't have a clue were I'm supposed to get them from and here in Australia we don't have wreckers for such old US cars. So were in trouble unless someone can help us find some or maybe somebody knows if you can resurface the cogwheels ? He said they were a bit rusty. Hope someone can help. Nicola

nicola, I have the tranny out of my 57 behind my garage, it worked when I took it out last winter, even if I gave it to you it would cost a small fortune to ship it down under. If all else fails e-mail me maybe something could be done. We have friends that just sold there cane farm in Prosipine--she was a war bride, I think she`s about 89, so we know a little about the Aussies. Her name was Dorthy McCorrmick. Keep in touch and good---g`day mate.

Thank you very much for the telephone number iddie. I'm for certain gonna call them!!

And Bebop, maybe we have to get a whole "new" one. I was just talking to the mechanic and he said if you can get a rebuild or one that's still working, do it.

I keep you posted. And g'day to you too mate
