350 small block in 53 buick special 8

well i got a 53 buick special 8 and i threw a rod right through the oil pan the other day in the originol motor. now i want something with a lil more umph without too much trouble for installation. i was told that a chevy 350 will bolt right up to the three on the tree tranny because i want to keep it like that. also how would the motor mount up. where can i get custom motor mounts or buy the right ones. really could use your guys help thanks!

The trans bolt pattern is different on Chevy. My guess is a 322 Nailhead will be the best swap all 53's except the specials had nailhead V8. Might be a bolt in with 53 Century parts? Another small block Chevy will be just another SBC like every body else anyway.

There may be some width issues with chevy also, the Nailhead is narow for a reason and the I was told the narrow 53 engine compartment is it.
