Hi, Will a 1957 engine fit in a 1956. I was wondering if I can use the 57 engine with no problem in a 56.

    Thanks

The bell housing on the 57 364CI engine is larger than the one on your 56. If you change engines you must also use the 57 trans. If your Buick has a manual trans, you will need to find a 57 stick bell housing

The engine will be almost a bolt in thng. the only change i can thnk of off hand is the fuel line . It will need to be rerouted and lengthened.

Exhaust manifolds are different ( different ports ) and the driver side is close to steering box on a 56. Are the front mounts the same?
