I have a 1949 Buick straight eight 320cu.in. motor that I'm trying to match up with a manual transmission. My motor was originally bolted to a Dynaflow.
There is a transmission available to me, listed as being for 1942-47 series 40 and 50 cars, with casting numbers 1321858-1, and 1317853-2 on it.
Will this wotk with my motor? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bains
This remark is for a proper interchange of the complete transmission. It does not say that the small series transmission can not be used with modifications.
According to hollander, the last 320 standard appears to have been in '48. It is the same from '42 to '48 series 60, 70, 90. 90's from '41 and early '42 require a modification.
The case will interchange with several Olds and Pontiacs.
