The Century is a 60 series, the Super is a 50 series. The Special and Century use the smaller B body that was shared with Oldsmobile. The Super and Roadmaster share the larger C body along with Cadillac. Century models had a more powerful engine than the Supers.

Ths Super series did not debut until 1940. The other series picked their names in 1936, at which time the 60 series Century was numbered next to the 70 series Roadmaster. The Super took a lower series number, even though it was a larger and more expensive auto than the Century.
