Gary, the interior trim code shoud be a three-digit number beginning with 1. 198 was not a valid GS400 trim code. The code gives the color and seat construction (notchback or bucket). All GS 400 interiors were done in vinyl. For the Desert Beige exterior, four interior colors were available on the hardtop; two on the convertible.
Does the trim code stamping look like factory original? Anytime I see the letters SCC, it makes me think of the abbreviation for Sports Car Club.
The 8 in the paint code indicates an Avocado vinyl top or convertible top. This color top was available with the Desert Beige lower body color.
