Thread: 1939 Buick 4 door emergency brake cable

    Post

    Hello,

I am in need of a 1939 Buick 4 door sedan stock front emergency cable. The rear end is a late model and I have the cables for it but I am having diffuculty obtaining the front cable. I tried Cars and they were unable to help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Daryl

do you mean the cables going to the emergency brackes on the front??? cause i always thought they only went to the rear wheels. they do on my 53 anyway.

I am refer to the rear emergency brakes. The cable attaches to the hand lever along the left kick panel and runs back above the driveshaft where it attaches to a bracket which ajoins the rear cables. Where the attachment is is where you adjust the cables also.
    Thanks,
    Dayl

No, you can't post in the wrong place. Pretty much any regulars go to the "today's active topics" and that brings up everything. Here's a few places you might try...

    Bob's Auotmobilia, 805-434-2963
    Wheatbelt 580-855-2449

    or

There are also cable specialist places that will build control cables to your specifications.
