I have heard there is someone out there who can put new inserts on the aluminium finned drums?? Has anyone done this or does anybody have a name? If you have done this do you like the results?
Hi There bebop,
That's a Very Intrigueing Question. I would like to know the Answer to that myself. Finned Aluminum Drums are hard to come by. And when your are able to find them, they don't have enough surface area remaining. Installing new linings is a perfect solution.
I'm looking for a set of 1959-60 45 Finned Aluminum Drums to put on My '56 for better Braking.
The is a Company in Flower Mount Tx., Wilson welding and Machine that plans to Re-Produce the Buick Finned Aluminum Drums. www.wilsonweldingandmachine.com
I Hope the is Somone out there who does reline the drums. It sure would solve a Lot of Problems.
