Thread: 400 Turbo Transmission

  1. #1

    Question

    Hello,
The 400 Turbo is attached to a 455 Buick engine is in a 39 Buick 4 Door Sedan. I am currently wiring the car and am just about too fire things up. On the left side of the transmission there is an electrical plug with two terminals. The plug is between the shifting shaft and the speedometer cable attachment. What is this for and what does it need to be attached to?

    Thanks,
    Daryl

The TH400 has an electric kick down as opposed to the cable kick down in a 350 .You will need a switch set up on your accelerator to give you a passing gear.

    Thanks again Joe,
I thought that was the case so when I was at the wrecking yard today I folowed the wires back to the throttle pedal and took off the switch and bracket. the only problem is the plug I got is for one terminal. Do you know where I can obtain the one for the double terminal?

    Thanks again!
    Daryl
