    hi . 90 skylark 4 cyl auto. the speedo quits working after about 12-15 miles. any clues? tom t

    new info:found connector on rt top of trans case, was full of ATF. cleaned and it worked about 40 miles. so, its atf leaking into and shorting. any one have this prob? cure? tt

    I don't know buicks all that well yet, but with Fords (i hope that isn't blasphme to say that word) i know that the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which sends the trans. speed to the speedo and ECM has a seal on the gear shaft and if that fails then it will **** fluid out and will obviously screw up the sensor.
    So i'd say replace the speed sensor and clean the connector. When you connect the new sensor fill the connection with dielectric grease to prevent any foreign materials from getting in.
