Thread: 401 piston rings

I started to fit the rings today in my 65 401 and have a question. It's been about 20 years since I built my last motor, but I never recall having to grind 3/8" of the ring off to fit the cylinder bore. I am wondering if I have the correct rings. There is no ID on the box. Is this normal with 401 rings?
    Thanks

Anything more than .020 is too much to grind. Someone sent the wrong rings
