I have a '65 401 sitting on a shelf here. It measures 30 1/4" from the front of the pulley to the bell housing. You can take off 2 1/2" for the pulley. Maybe someone has a transmission laying around?
You have found a great setup!
Going to use the engine/trans out of a rusted out 66 Riv in a hot rod. Unfortunately the car is currently buried in snow drifts with the current temperature running around 15 below. Due to the weather conditions I am unable to get at the car for a couple of months. Would like to keep the chassis work continuing on the car but I need some help to do this.
What is the overall length of a 425 / SP400 from front pulley to rear of trans output shaft?
Thanks
Canuck
