Thread: 401 Question

    Question

Will my 1964 401 bolt right into a 1963 Riviera? I know the transmissions are different (aren't they), but I didn't know if that mattered. If it won't, will my engine with the ST300 trans alltogether bolt right into the Riv with no modifications?
    Many thanks.

The crankshaft flange is different between the 63 and 64. You can put the complete assembly ( engine and trans) in the Riv but you may have to move the rear tranny mount and replace the front yoke on the drive shaft. I am not sure whether the drive shaft length will be righteither.
