Thread: center drag link for '63 Rivi

    Question

When I removed the oil pan from my '63 401, I removed the center link and tie rods. I've noticed that the kingpin on the center link is a little loose. I measure about an 1/8" of wobble. A replacement is upwards of $200. I was wondering if anybody knows of a repair kit for this center link. Or, what would happen if I had a welder drop a small bead all the way around the kingpin? Or, epoxy? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Sergio

By the way, welding or epoxying the kingpin would make your car unable to steer. The kingpin needs to be able to turn. The pitman arm has an interference fit onto the kingpin. I caught myself before making this costly mistake.
