I drove my 55 Super for the first time today. When I put it in reverse, it grabbed for a moment and then slipped to neutral. What's common for these trannys?

    Thanks

Well, when my 57 Super would only get Park and 3 neutrals, I needed a new torque converter, primary plate and primary pump before I could get her running. If it's that then you're in trouble, but it could be your vacuum... something or other, I can't think of the name right now but I would take it to tranny shop if I were you. Have fun!
