Thread: Driver side door lock sticks

    Question

Hi-- I have a '95 Buick Century and the driver side door lock sticks. The lock works fine when I use the electric switch but doesn't want to work when I use the key from the outside. Graphite doesn't seem to work. Had the same problem on an '86 Buick. Might this be due to a sticky solenoid? Bent linkage?

    Thanks, Bill Laughlin

try spraying wd 40 into the cylender--- soak it, let it sit for about 4 to 24 hours, then spray the key with wd 40 and slide it in and gentle work the key right to left until it losens up.IF that does not do it then take off the door panel and check to see if the switch rod is jammed or bent, this is the long rod that attaches to the lock and goes to the door release mechanism---- good luck
