    Question

    Hey whats the deal with this VIN number? It is on the title and the car.
    It is on a 1962 Skylark
    314514577.....?

    It decodes as follows:
    3= series- Skylark 4300 model
    I= model year- 1962
    4= GM assembly plant- Kansas City, KS
    514577= unique sequence number of this car (the first Buick Special that year was no. 501001)

    If the number is also stamped on the engine block, the car has its original engine.
    What has been, can be again. (Bob Wills, 1942)
