62 Special Heater Core Removal & Replace AC box

I need to replace my heater core on my 1962 Special. How much do I rip out under the dash to get to it? I also have an AC unit under there that I just got working a few years ago. The plastic cover on it is so fragile and cracked now, that I am afraid I will destroy it while getting to the heater core. Is there any where that has replacements for covers?

    Thanks in advance

Luckily the heater core comes out from the engine bay side. Removal appears to be straightforward going by the attached pages from the shop manual. Also included is an exploded parts view from the parts book.

The a/c evaporator case was used on '61-63 Specials and Olds F-85s. Lower half is part no 3149992; upper half with baffles is a 3150107. Finding a used one looks to be the only option on these parts.

Thanks Todd. This is what I need. I started to go from the outside, but I wanted to make sure.

    Thanks again.,
