Hello, Buick Aficionados! If I may try your knowledge base for verification, I have an old Buick Special that has me a bit puzzled.
I've had this car for well over ten years and just came upon some stunning information while trying to restore her.
1967 Buick Special 2 dr. thin pillar.
My VIN and Body Plate don't match, V6 on one tag, V8 on the other.
I don't have holes for Special emblems up front, or rivets for trim on the body.
One fender does have the holes high for a Special's fender vents, but that's it.
The other fender has holes low for fender vents like the Skylark.
The body has three holes in the rear on either side for emblems.
I have Power Steering, Power Brakes, and it appeared to have a smog pump at once, pulley still there.
It is originally White and has the 340ci., with a ST300 and dual Exhaust w/Chrome tips.
Bench seats with a Blue interior
I had purchased some emblems for the Special and even got the horizontal vents before I realized that they didn't match up.
I thought I might need to drill some holes but that didn't make any sense.
Is it possible I'm looking at a 1967 California 340 GS here?
VIN has a Z in it for Fremont, Ca
Looking at the Body Plate on the bottom, where options should be listed are the numbers, [5146 15 (168 or 188 or 1??)]
